How it works

Questions

Should I burn in captions or upload an SRT?

Both, ideally. Burned-in captions are what people read while scrolling with sound off; the SRT is what YouTube reads for search and what viewers can turn off. Exporting both costs one transcription here.

Does the SRT keep my edits?

Yes. The subtitle file is generated from the same words and timings you corrected, so a fix you make once shows up in both the burned-in video and the file.

Is there a length limit?

Shorts can now run to three minutes. The free plan takes clips up to 60 seconds, with two minutes of transcription a month; paid plans take clips up to five minutes, so any Short fits.
