Facebook Reels
A Facebook Reels caption generator for every Indian language.
For many Indian pages, Facebook is where the audience is older, further from the metros and more likely to watch in a language other than English. It is also where a video often plays with the sound off: on a bus, in an office, beside someone asleep.
Facebook's own automatic captions do not cover every Indian language, and whether they show depends on each viewer's settings. Captions drawn into the video show for everyone, in whatever language the Reel is spoken in.
What you get
Regional languages, in their own script
12 languages, each written in its own script: Bengali in Bengali, Telugu in Telugu, Gujarati in Gujarati. Hinglish-style romanised captions are one choice away for the many Facebook audiences who read Hindi in English letters.
Out of the way of the buttons
Facebook's Reels screen puts the page name and caption at the bottom and the reactions down the right. The caption block starts inside a safe band clear of both, and you can drag it anywhere you need.
One export, several places
The same burned-in MP4 posts to Facebook Reels, Instagram Reels and WhatsApp Status as it is. For an ordinary Facebook video post, a paid plan also gives you an SRT file to attach.
How it works
- 01
Upload the Reel
Straight from your phone or your editor, as an MP4 or MOV file.
- 02
Choose the language
Pick what is spoken, or let the model detect it. Choose native script, romanised, or an English translation.
- 03
Check and style
Correct names and local words, then choose a style and move the block clear of the interface.
- 04
Download and post
Export the MP4 with captions rendered in, and upload it to Facebook as a Reel.
Questions
Can I upload an SRT file to a Facebook Reel?
Facebook lets you attach subtitle files to ordinary video posts, but a Reel is best treated as a video with the words already in it. Burning the captions in means they show for every viewer, on every phone, whatever their caption settings.
Which languages can I caption Facebook Reels in?
12: Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu and Indian English. Every one except Urdu and English can also be written in English letters or translated into English.
Is it free?
Yes, to start: 2 minutes of transcription every month on Reels up to 60 seconds long, with 32 styles to choose from. Free exports carry a translucent AutoCap mark in the centre of the frame; any paid plan removes it and takes Reels up to 5 minutes.
