FAQ
Questions people actually ask
Everything creators ask before their first export — accuracy, languages, privacy, pricing and browser support.
How accurate is it on Hinglish?
Good, not perfect — no transcription is. Mistakes gather in names, brands, numbers and English words spoken inside Hindi sentences, which is why every word is editable before you export.
Do my videos get uploaded anywhere?
The audio is sent to our transcription providers to generate captions. Rendering happens on your own device, so your video is never uploaded just to be exported. We don't use your audio or transcripts to train anything.
Which languages are supported?
All 12: Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu and Indian English — plus auto-detect. Each can be written in its own script; all but Urdu and English can also come out romanised or translated to English.
Can it turn my video into English subtitles?
Yes, from Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu. Choose English translation before you transcribe, and the English opens in the editor like any other transcript, editable word by word. Urdu and English clips are transcribed as they are spoken.
What do I actually get on the free plan?
Two minutes of transcription a month, clips up to 60 seconds, every caption style, and unlimited video exports up to 2K with the AutoCap badge. SRT and VTT downloads come with a paid plan. No card needed.
Can I export without the watermark for free?
No. Free exports carry a small AutoCap badge, and that is the one thing the free plan holds back. Removing it from a single video is a one-time ₹49, and every paid plan exports without it.
Can I pay once instead of subscribing?
For a single video, yes. Removing the watermark from one video is ₹49, and every export of that video stays watermark-free for 24 hours from the first — so you can fix a caption and export again. It is a one-time UPI payment, once per account, with no mandate and nothing that renews, and it adds no transcription minutes. For other videos, a plan removes the watermark from every export.
Which browsers can export video?
Where the browser has built-in video encoding, as current Chrome and Edge do, the MP4 is rendered directly. Where it doesn't, AutoCap records the video as it plays, so the export takes about as long as the clip. The export button tells you which applies before you start, and a browser that can do neither is told to try Chrome, Edge or Safari.
Do the captions land exactly on each word?
Usually. The main transcription service times every word itself. When a clip goes through the other one, as English translations always do, it times whole phrases; AutoCap then estimates where each word falls and moves the boundaries onto pauses it can hear. Any word can be dragged on the timeline if it lands early or late.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes, and it is one button. Monthly plans renew automatically unless you clear that at checkout — your bank asks you to approve the mandate once, warns you at least 24 hours before every payment, and you can stop it from your account page whenever you like. Stopping it keeps everything you have already paid for to the end of that period; only the next payment stops. The ₹49 watermark removal never renews at all. Payments already made are final and are not returned.
