Transcripts

Video to transcript, with a timestamp on every word.

A transcript of an Indian-language video is hard to get right from tools built for English: they hear Hindi as garbled English, drop the Tamil half of a code-mixed sentence, or return Devanagari with the vowel signs in the wrong place.

This is the same transcription that powers the captions: a speech model trained on Indian languages, with every word timed. The difference is what you take away. Instead of a styled video, you download the words.

What you get

Timestamped, not just text

SRT and VTT are plain text files with a time on every line, so you can jump to any quote in the recording. They open in any text editor or word processor.

Corrected before you download

Read the transcript against the video, fix names and terms, and the file you download carries your corrections rather than the model's first draft.

In the script it was spoken in

Hindi in Devanagari, Tamil in Tamil script, Urdu in Urdu script; or romanised, or translated into English if that is what the transcript is for.

Questions

Can I get a plain text transcript without timestamps?

The download is SRT or VTT, which are text files with timing lines between the sentences. If you only need the words, open the SRT and remove the numbered timing lines, or paste it into a converter that does that for you.

Is the transcript download free?

Transcribing is free for 2 minutes a month on clips up to 60 seconds, and you can read and correct the transcript in the editor. Downloading it as SRT or VTT needs a paid plan, from ₹399 a month for 90 minutes.

Can it transcribe a Facebook or YouTube video from a link?

Not from a link. Download the video you own, or export it from your editor, and upload the file.
