How AutoCap's guides and language notes are written, checked and corrected.

Who writes the guides

  • Guides are published by AutoCap itself, with no personal byline. About says who runs it, and AutoCap is accountable for everything in them.
  • The notes on each language's template page are written in AutoCap's own voice and describe how that script behaves in the editor.

How a guide is made

  • Topics come from building AutoCap: problems the editor has had to solve, and decisions creators face when they caption a video.
  • A draft can be prepared with the help of writing tools, including AI. Nothing is listed on the site until every claim about the editor has been checked against how it behaves and the draft has been edited.
  • A guide describes what is true when it is written. When the product or a platform changes, the guide is updated and shows the date it changed.

Independence

  • The guides are written by the people who make AutoCap, and they say so wherever AutoCap is the tool being described.
  • No platform, font maker or software company pays for a mention or sees a guide before it is published.
  • Public pages on this site may show ads. Advertisers have no say in what the guides cover or recommend.

Corrections

  • If a guide gets something wrong, email support@autocap.in with the page address and what should change. Confirmed mistakes are fixed, and the guide's updated date moves.
