CapCut alternative
A CapCut alternative for auto captions that works in India.
For a lot of Indian creators, CapCut was where captions happened, until July 2020, when it was among the apps the Government of India blocked. Today it is still not listed in the Indian App Store or on Google Play in India.
Most people searching for a CapCut alternative want one particular thing back: automatic captions on a short video, in the language it was spoken, that look good enough to post. That is the job AutoCap is built for.

Questions
Is CapCut banned in India?
It was among the Chinese apps the Government of India blocked in July 2020, and as of November 2026 it is not listed in India's App Store or Google Play. AutoCap is built in India and works in any browser here.
Can AutoCap edit a whole video like CapCut?
No. CapCut is a full editor with transitions, effects and multi-track cutting; AutoCap is a caption editor. Cut the video in the editor you use now, then caption it here, or caption inside Premiere Pro with the AutoCap plugin.
Can I bring my CapCut captions across?
AutoCap makes its own transcript from the audio rather than importing caption files. Upload the clip without burned-in captions and AutoCap transcribes it afresh, timed word by word, ready to style.
